The "Peoples Park" at the corner of College and Pope in Silver City and its accompanying mural were dedicated Thursday. It used to be a dumpy parking lot for Life Quest. In the center of the park is a lending/take-a-book-leave-a- book library in a wooden box atop a post. Included in the dedication was a remodel of the Life Quest offices.

The park is over looked by the mural composed of photos of local kids. It's not finished yet; those kids wishing to have their photo used had to answer certain questions and were chosen based on a creative answer and those words will be placed on the mural in the coming weeks.
