Congratulaions President Elect Donald Trump!
Well, not really. This letter is just a way of saying ‘I told you so’ for the entire majority of the US voting population. You, the minority Trump voters, are not going to be as happy as you had hoped in a few months. And here are just a few of the reasons why:

Gutting the Clean Water Act : Get ready to drink another cities water, and everything in it, if you live downstream (Congrats Las Cruces! Downstream from Los Alamos, Santa Fe, and ABQ. Think how much money you’ll save on your electric bill when you glow in the dark!)

Gutting the Clean Air Act: Remember acid rain, that toxic emission from burning cheap, sulfur rich coal? Killed a lot of the forests on the East coast. Does that matter to you? Not so much. But wait until that guy starts burning the tire dump around the corner and it turns your air black. Can you do anything about it? No. Sad.

Nominating Gov.Nikki Haley as our Representative to the UN. Nikki can’t even spell UN, much less represent us there.

Nominating Sen. Jeff Beauregard Sessions to be Attorney General. The man was denied a judgeship for being too racily biased (he is a big fan of the KKK) and has the great idea of privatizing all American prisons. Think about that when your nephew gets 30 years for a joint of marijuana in the car. And by the way, the taxpayer is sent the bill for that jail time.

And the privatization of the public school system into a charter school voucher system? You pay the feds for that service and, once again, you, the taxpayer, gets the bill. Just like you do now…with the exception that you are told what books to read, what to wear, and what to think. Ya-vol.

Remember that wall thing? The one that will separate the US from Mexico? The one he said that they would pay for? He wasn’t speaking literally about a physical wall, just figuratively. No, he meant drones or land mines or something. Never a real wall. No. Never. You misheard him.

And finally, Hillary Clinton in prison. Somebody finally had a chance to sit the man down and tell him about due process. Ooops. Hillary will never wear stripes, folks.

So, I hate to tell you this, but you, dear Trump voter, have a ringside seat to watch the decline and fall of western civilization, courtesy of Donald J. Trump, your president.

I basically agree with you Richard. I do think we need to pressure our senators to stand up to the fascist coming into office. Forget pressuring Pearce he is just like Trump and not a good representative. We need Harry Reid and the Democrats to confirm Merrick Garland during the January swearing in:

At 12:00 noon on January 3, 2017 (according to the Constitution), the terms of 34 U.S. Senators will expire. At that point, the Senate will briefly consist of 66 sitting senators—until Vice President Joe Biden, in his capacity as Senate president, begins swearing in the senators-elect.

Before Biden begins the proceedings, he has a chance to preside over a Senate that consists of 34 Democrats, 2 independents who caucus with Democrats and 30 Republicans—as the remaining Senators are in limbo of being newly sworn in. At this point, Democrats could ask to finish Senate business as it pertains to President Obama’s nomination of Judge Merrick Garland.

Our Message to Vice President Biden and Senate Democrats :
Senate Republicans pulled a historically unprecedented stunt to simply deny Merrick Garland a hearing for the past year. On January 3rd, while the Senate is temporarily in Democratic hands, please vote to confirm Garland to the U.S. Supreme Court.

The Supreme Court is a major battleground. Having a reasonable person on the court would really help.

Interesting idea, Gary. Unfortunately I doubt it would work. The Supreme Court would have to rule on whether to accept the newly appointed justice. I doubt even the liberal justices would approve this kind of shenanigan. They would say that constitutionally the new Senators automatically take office at noon on January 3 and the swearing in is just a ceremony. But I guess we'll see whether Biden will try it and whether the court will accept it.
