Now that we have turned our state government green, we have the most promising opportunity in a generation to pass bold, humanity- and wildlife-saving policies. That's why GRIP, the Gila Conservation Coalition, and the Rio Grande Chapter of the Sierra Club are hosting a grassroots lobby training on Wednesday, January 9 from 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm at the WNMU Student Memorial Building 3rd Floor Seminar Room.

The urgency couldn’t be greater. A deeply committed alliance of environmental, health, community, and social justice organizations has come together in the effort to pass game-changing legislation for the health of our planet, now!

Your advocacy during and leading up to the 2019 NM legislative session can make the difference between a genuinely progressive and effective environmental platform or more of the same. This is our chance to enact state-level protections that counteract those being stripped by the Trump administration.

If you are coming, please RSVP at http://www.riograndesierraclub.org/lobb ... istration/

If you have questions, please write to DianeAbqNM@gmail.com.

See you next week!

Allyson Siwik, Executive Director
Gila Resources Information Project

P.S.: Don't forget to add our calendar of events for the legislative session to your calendar.

Clean Energy Conference: Jan. 28, featuring New Mexico environmental journalist Laura Paskus and Destiny Watford, a Goldman Environmental Prize winner who in high school led the fight to stop a trash-burning incinerator in her community.

Clean Energy Activist Day: Jan. 29

Lands, Water, and Wildlife Day at the Roundhouse: Feb. 13

Find out more and see a list of the many co-sponsors of these events here: http://www.riograndesierraclub.org/lobby-training/
