Brad Lancaster is giving a
Food Forestry talk this Thursday evening 6:30-7:30pm at the Commons.
Excerpted from The Commons August 2018 newsletter:
Planting, Stewarding, and Feasting (from) Wild Food Forests Where We Live, Work, and Play: A presentation (and book signing) by Brad Lancaster
Last year some of the Mesquitos and Kristin worked with Brad Lancaster and the Desert Harvesters, learning how to use our hammer mill and organize a community milling event. We were all blown away with the work and passion everyone from Desert Harvesters brings to the table around using abundant, wild foods in our diets.
When Brad asked about hosting a Food Forestry workshop here in Silver, there was no doubt in our minds that it would be an excellent opportunity for our community to come together to learn. The Desert Harvesters just came out with their second book,
Eat Mesquite and More, which is FILLED with delicious wild food recipes from community members. This book will be featured during Brad's presentation this Thursday, August 9th from 6:30-7:30 at The Commons! Suggested Donation is $5, but no one will be turned away for lack of funds.
